Lunenburg
is a special jewel of a settlement dating back to 1753.
UNESCO designated this town a World Heritage Sight, in recognition
of its special significance to world history. Lunenburg's
harbour has been and remains the heart of its existence.
It is lined with huge colorful buildings servicing seafarers.
Unique architectural beauty is found throughout, including
the Central United Church of Lunenburg (illustrated here),
numerous Captain's mansions, vintage hotels, and the whimsical
signature Lunenburg Bumps. Included in this scene are people
and things personal to me, such as my daughter's name and
son's initials on the boats, our two family pets, the family
standing on the balcony, the items on the clothesline, etc.
All reproductions
