This painting
illustrates one of the thousands of vital sentinels that
have stood watch on our treacherous Atlantic coast for hundreds
of years. Lighthouses are both landmarks and beacons of
safety for all who travel the sea. With a symphony of wind
and dancing clouds above this electric beacon, well used
boats leaning on their cradles after a hard season, wildflowers,
lupins, native butterflies, and seagulls, you know the water's
edge is very near. Included in this scene are references
personal to me, such as the names of my two children appearing
as the names of boats.
