My love
of nature and wildlife includes my garden. I derive extraordinary
therapy whenever I am designing, digging, pruning, planting,
weeding, and harvesting my gardens, or even mowing my lawn.
I love encountering worms, ant nests, and other little critters.
I love the many curious little municipalities I find. I
stand in constant awe of Mother Nature. It is in these incredible
and easily overlooked details that I see God. In this painting,
the orchard has been harvested and everything is being cleaned
up and put away, to wait for Spring. My son, Barry, gave
me the idea to put fallen apples under the trees, just like
what we have in our own yard. His favourite watering can
is the tiniest one on the second shelf. He calls it the
"Stuart Little" watering can. The tiny red can
on the bottom shelf is the favourite of my daughter, Emily.
It's just the right size for her Barbie dolls.
